This pilot episode takes us back to a group in February 2018 with one of our Directors & Head Surf Coaches – Garrett. A semi-secret sand bottom setup was our playground, and this Level 3/4 Intermediate/Advanced Group consisted of Nick, El, Kyran & Sam.
The waves on offer this week really allowed us to focus on translating the speed from the takeoff into manoeuvres such as the bottom turns, cutbacks & even top turns. With great waves on offer we really pushed the group both in the water and in our land based training sessions and they certainly took on the challenge!
An exciting time in anyone’s surf progression, you can really feel the stoke coming across from this group as they start to attempt & achieve some of these more progressive manoeuvres! Eager to keep the surf stoke going? Check out some of our other surf videos on the Talalla Surf & Yoga Youtube channel here!
Interested in learning to surf in Sri Lanka with Talalla Surf Camp? Sri Lanka is one of the best places in the world for beginners to experience surf stoke – many of our guests have never surfed before, but by the end of the week are comfortable catching green (unbroken) waves independently!
We are also one of the few surf schools in Sri Lanka that offers higher-level coaching beyond just surf guiding. Talalla Surf prides ourselves on our industry-leading video review, in-water coaching and theory sessions. These are extremely helpful for surfers looking to further progress their skills and take it to the next level. For intermediate/advanced surfers, we further limit the group size to a maximum of 4 people of a similar level.
We’d love to have you join us on your next surf holiday in Sri Lanka. Get in touch with us using this contact form, or read more about our Sri Lanka surf and surf & yoga retreat packages here.
