6 NIGHTS AT TALALLA

3 DELICIOUS MEALS PER DAY

Your retreat includes x3 nourishing meals per day prepared by our chefs and served at our on-site restaurant. 

Enjoy a buffet-style banquet with brand new dishes served daily so you can indulge in a choice of traditional Sri Lankan and Western cuisines.

2 DAILY REFORMER & MAT CLASSES

Your retreat includes 2 daily reformer & mat Pilates classes that are personalized to your body, no matter your ability or experience. 

Classes in the morning will follow a more energizing sequence, designed to ignite the body. Your evening session is created to ease you into the evening with a more restorative approach.

Our team are here to guide and assist you through every movement in our luxurious studio with panoramic ocean views. 

Our studio is air-conditioned and equipped with state-of-the-art reformer boards and props to support you during your daily practice.

2 PILATES WORKSHOPS & A PERSONAL PLAN

During your retreat we will host x2 optional Pilates workshops to expand your understanding of Pilates. 

From the origins of Pilates to hands-on alignment & adjustments, our workshops are designed to supplement your practice so you can leave feeling confident and inspired on the board (or mat!)

You’ll also benefit from 1 to 1 time with our instructors and leave with your very own personalised pilates plan to help you achieve your unique goals.

2 CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

Your retreat includes x2 cultural immersion activities to explore the rich culture of Sri Lanka…

COOKING CLASS – Learn how to create traditional Sri Lankan dishes straight from the locals.

BUDDHIST TEMPLE VISIT – Join us on a journey by Tuktuk to visit an ancient Buddhist temple and learn more about ancient meditation practices that can enhance your wellbeing in your life back home.

2 WELLNESS SESSIONS

MEET your hosts

Jane (left) and Allison (right) make up our Pilates dream team and will be your hosts during your retreat.

Jane is committed to helping people move, feel, and live better through Pilates. With a lifelong love of sport, running, strength training, and high-intensity workouts, she understands the importance of balance, mobility, and building a strong foundation for movement. She believes Pilates is more than just exercise – it’s a tool for long-term wellbeing, strength, and energy.

Allison comes from a background in professional dance who began teaching Pilates back in 2007! As a full time instructor for almost 20 years, she has taught everyone from olympic athletes, students recovering from injuries, pre and post natal, and corporate clients. In addition to Reformer and mat Pilates, Allison also teaches yoga, meditation, dance, and classes for children.

Above everything, our team are here to support you, throughout classes and also as a friendly face if you have any questions or just fancy a fresh coconut in the sun and a chat – Pilates related or not!

RETREAT FAQS

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it. 

We know that the decision to book a retreat is a big investment into yourself, and sometimes that journey is a path you need to embark on solo.

Lots of people that attend our retreats come on their own, so we can almost guarantee you will meet likeminded individuals in the same position as you.

We’re also more than happy to host friends and family groups too – the more the merrier! Our retreats are open & inclusive to anyone interested in taking a break from everyday life to look after themselves.

Yes! A retreat is the perfect getaway to make some new memories with your favourite people. If you’d like to share a room with your friend(s), you can choose our double/triple options under the room selection.

There is no requirement to have attended a Pilates class before – let alone being a pro!

Sometimes an immersive experience like this is just what you need to acquire a new skill & the confidence to continue the habit when you return home.

We all start somewhere, no matter your age, fitness or physical ability, our team are here to cater to you and adapt classes to your specific needs.

Having said that, if you have a bunch of Pilates experience, this is a great stop-off to learn more and deepen your understanding of Pilates. Lots of people that join us use this week as a stepping stone before committing to a teacher training. Our team are more than happy to broach the subject with you if you have any questions. 

Sri Lanka has a tropical climate that circulates through wetter and drier seasons, though because of climate change, the weather is increasingly becoming less predictable. In recent years our driest months have seen the highest rainfall!

We encourage you to choose your retreat dates to suit your schedule as globally weather is not always going to show up in the same ways they used to.

‘Rainy season’ really just means that it’s going to rain for a short while at some point in the day, but the rest of the time it’s sunny & tropical. Your weather app will show you rain everyday, but the portion of the day that it rains is not typically going to impact your time on the island. 

So when’s the best time of year to come? The time of year that suits you & your schedule best! We’ll be here to host you at Talalla.

Additionally, everything offered in our retreat schedules is optional. So if you decide you need some more ‘me time’, there are many places on our property (and the beach) that you can relax and unwind at your own pace.

Our schedules are designed so that you make the most out of your time with us, both physically and emotionally. But we know that every person is different. We all march to our own rhythms and have our own unique needs, so our staff members are always here to help you to feel comfortable at all times during your stay.

We have laundry facilities on site, so there is no need to overpack (easier said than done!)

Some bits we do encourage you to bring are…

  • Lightweight and breathable clothes to practice in (it can get sweaty in a tropical climate)
  • Something to swim in
  • Something that covers your legs & shoulders when exploring temples to respect local culture
  • Mosquito repellent (we also sell this in our shop)
  • Suncream – the Sri Lankan sun can be very strong (you can find this in our shop too)
  • A water bottle – we have refill stations on the property and encourage our guests to refrain from relying on single-use plastic
  • (Optional) A retreat can be the perfect time for self-reflection as you embark on a journey of personal growth. Bringing a journal and a pen to document your time with us can help to enrich your time.

 

We provide towels/shower gel and Pilates mats/equipment.
