“MOUNTAIN BEACH FITNESS”
November 23rd – 28th, 2019
at Talalla Retreat, Sri Lanka
We aim to create a strong, efficient, injury free body that is fit for purpose and aligned to your individual goals.
Our educational retreats will challenge your body, change your perspective, and refresh your mind.
We believe in outdoor exercise as feel good therapy available for all. Health; is not about the handstand. It is not about the avocado epidemic and it is certainly not about how ripped your six pack is. Health is more than just fighting disease and plastering the symptoms it is about the way we live, think and feel.
It is so much more than the sum of its parts.
So grab those trainers and get moving. Our retreat ethos is not about pounding the pavement but connecting with your body mindfully and finding strength through movement. Your body is a vehicle for experiencing life so the greater your physical condition the better you will experience “living”. Exercise is this panacea that seems to protect both physical and emotional wellness and outdoor exercise is the ultimate health injection. You have your car motored, your hair cut and so why not invest some time in yourself.
The way you move affects how you feel.
The way you feel affects how you think and the way you think affects how you are.
ABOUT MOUNTAIN BEACH FITNESS RETREATS
All of our stunning retreat locations have been chosen consciously because of their environments.
We all know exercise is good for your body in numerous ways. A sweaty workout can reduce anxiety, depression and increase self esteem and sex drive. You get the feel good factor with a boost to your dopamine and serotonin neurotransmitters too.
Evidence even says aerobic exercise preserves memory, brain volume and executive functioning. But the effect is magnified when you work out in nature. Ideally this is untouched wilderness but even being surrounded by trees and green space will do your brain a favour. Gardens have long been known for their therapeutic benefits and have been conscientiously built in urban areas to diffuse the madness. Even a 15 min walk in the woods can induce noticeable changes to our physiology. All of our locations have been hand picked due to their incredible natural environment and we use this as a training ground to frame our workouts. Imagine immersing yourself in the outdoors for a whole week, moving your body in a way it’s been designed to move, having healthy nutritious meals, optimum rest and a fantastic fun team to share it with.
Imagine how good you could feel.
We really understand the value of having fun, working out and spending time in nature.
From high altitude training in Verbier to barefoot beach runs in Sri Lanka we have a plethora of activities; each day is varied and designed to compliment the next. We think about every aspect of fitness from agility, to endurance, to recovery to strength and flexibility and have created a timetable that will test your body and enhance your overall vitality.
Our belief comes from the connection between a happy body and a happy mind and we aim to provide you with a fun and engaging programme in the most wonderful outdoor environments.
“Thank you so much for seriously one of the most inspirational, fun and challenging experiences. Emma and Lottie are a complete credit to their professions. Person centred in their approach pushing individuals to reach goals. We had varied fitness levels on our retreat, but everyone got the consideration they needed. As hard as they train you (which I must add is hard) they top up with a mind body approach which is so helpful to see you through.” – Emma
Spend a week with us and your mind, body and soul will thank you for it.
