From May to December 2014, Talalla Retreat is excited to offer unique and personalised seven day Health Retreats. The focus of the Health and Wellbeing Retreats is to provide a holistic approach to your physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. Our emphasis is on providing the perfect environment for you to leave feeling cleansed, relaxed and renewed, ready for whatever life may have in store in for you.

Health retreats start on the second Sunday of each month.

Initial Consultation

Upon your arrival at Talalla Retreat, you will receive an initial consultation in order to establish your specific goals and needs, whether they are weight loss, stress management, detox, nutritional advice or general health and fitness.

While this will vary from guest to guest, the initial consultation will involve an overview of your health history and a bodywork and physiotherapy assessment.

What Will The Health Retreat Offer?

Talalla Retreat offers a range of services and facilities to suit individual programmes that may include:

Daily guided yoga sessions with our resident Talalla Yoga Teacher.
Daily meditation and mindfulness sessions, integrating a variety of mindfulness and pranayama practices.
Consultations with the resident physiotherapist, incorporating structural bodywork therapies, holistic physiotherapy including myofascial techniques, acupuncture and dry needling and mobilisations.
Movement based therapies...Applied Kinesiology, Clinical Pilates and Yoga Therapy.
Massage treatments...aromatherapy, reflexology, ayurvedic massage, deep tissue massage, Swedish massage.
Nutritional advice and food as medicine workshops.
Alternative exercise options... 20m swimming pool, surfing with resident instructor, snorkelling, beach exercise.

Health Retreat Practitioners

Garrett Lane

Garrett is a Bodyworker and fully qualified Physiotherapist with Post-Graduate Qualifications in Pilates and Clinical Acupuncture and Dry Needling. He has furthered his studies of health into wider fields of practice including Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy, and currently lectures on the musculoskeletal and myofascial applications of Yoga Therapy for Yoga Therapy Teacher Trainees registered with the Australian Association of Yoga Therapists (AAYT).

He is also a Yoga Australia registered Yoga Teacher, having trained through Yoga Space under the guidance of Dr Jean Byrne.

With extensive professional experience, Garrett has a holistic understanding of the interplay between physical, mental and spiritual health.
It is this understanding which he brings to his one on one consultations, treatments and workshops at Talalla.

Angelique Dorwling Carter

Growing up in the warm waters of French island, La Reunion, Angelique knows just how therapeutic island life can be. Her curiosity for an enriched life led her to discover yoga through the practice of Ashtanga. The positive impact of the practice encouraged her to complete her 1000hr Yoga Teacher Training in Perth, Western Australia, where she continues as a student of the Yoga Space Mysore program.

She has furthered her training by completing the Jon Kabat Zinn based Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program and further Yoga Nidra and Relaxation Workshops. She enjoys empowering others with simple mindfulness and meditation based techniques to allow them to more readily work with the everyday stressors of life.

Angelique has discovered the power of a wholefoods plant based diet for cleansing both body and mind. She is passionate about sharing this understanding and will be running the cleansing live food workshops, outlining the benefits of numerous raw and super foods and how you may integrate some of these techniques and recipes into your own lifestyle.
